PERU AMAZON JUNGLE
The Amazon Jungle provides the perfect outdoor adventure and volunteer vacation for all ages!
Fit for ages seven and above, the Amazon Jungle is a playground for water sports and wildlife exploration. Begin your adventure in Iquitos where you’ll cruise up the Amazon to the elevated Tahuayo Lodge. For the next several days you’ll take charge of your experience by selecting activities right for you with options to decline the ones that aren’t. Visit a native shaman, canoe a flooded forest, swim in Dolphin Lake, fish for small piranha’s, hunt for caymen, or hike through jungle terrain. Be amused by your local guides who are Peruvian jacks of all trades, from hacking down trees with machetes to making paint brushes from twigs, they’ll provide non-stop entertainment from beginning to end.
Whether you’re an adult or a child, volunteering in villages like Chino or San Pedro will open your eyes to a different way of life. Locals are thankful for your visit and welcome you with open arms; their hospitality is unbeatable. Work alongside them when you construct and paint trash bins, a project suitable for all ages. Implementing sanitation systems is an immediate need of this region if they wish to preserve the natural beauty of the Amazon. Without proper disposal of waste there are higher risks of mosquito infestation, desease, and pollution of rainforest and river water.
No matter if you’re looking for a fun family adventure or you’re an adult seeking a wild jungle adventure, the Amazon offers a culture and habitat unlike any other in the world.
