Guatemala provides the perfect backdrop for a multisport adventure, cultural experience and a volunteer vacation!

Get to know the Mayan culture up close and personal on this 10-day adventure. Bike around Antigua Valley, climb and camp on Pacaya volcano, hike and kayak at Lake Atitlan, and build a home for a family in need . Explore the historic city of Antigua as you enjoy meals and nightlife of the local people.

Sample 10-day Itinerary

Day 1: Antigua – Arrive as close to noon as possible, free day in Antigua, orientation

Day 2: Antigua Valley – Bike Antigua Valley, visit villages & markets, lunch at Women’s Coop

Day 3: Pacaya – Optional city tour of Antigua or salsa class, climb Pacaya volcano (6500′), camp

Day 4: Pacaya – Descend Pacaya, introduction to home building project

Day 5: Antigua Valley - Begin construction of home, social work visit in Antigua Valley

Day 6: Antigua Valley - Continue construction of home, closing ceremony in village

Day 7: Lake Atitlan - Transfer to Panajachel for shopping and lunch, free afternoon at La Casa del Mundo

Day 8: Lake Atitlan - Kayaking and hiking at the lake, yoga in the afternoon

Day 9: Lake Atitlan – Hike the “City of Stairs”, transfer back to Antigua, final dinner

Day 10: Guatemala City – Depart as close to noon as possible
